A rollover crash in southwest Iowa killed a 16-year-old Creston teen Friday morning. The Iowa State Patrol says the unidentified victim was a passenger in a van.
It happened just after 8 a.m. on 190th Street east of Quince Avenue, which is just northeast of the town of Prescott.
An investigation revealed that the van was traveling westbound on a gravel road. The unidentified 17-year-old driver, who is also from Creston, lost control after reaching the crest of a hill. The driver overcorrected and entered the south ditch and the van rolled. The passenger was ejected and died.
The State Patrol says the driver was also not wearing a seat belt either. The driver was being treated at Adams County Hospital.
