Police are sorting through details of a traffic accident that began with a motorist blackout and ended in a tangle of broken metal at a metro gas station.
It happened at 84th and Frederick, just south of Center.
Investigators say a woman blacked out, hit two cars and her car then car burst into flames right by a gas pump.
As the car rushed toward the pump, one man tells us he barely pulled his sister out of harm's way. Witnesses say it looked like something out of an action movie.
Lindsay Chumura and her brother Cory Jones were at the convenience store getting some gas at the time, “and this woman came up over the curb and flew through the air, jumped the curb, hit a bunch of rocks, split them in half, hit my car right here,” Lindsey said. “Then she hit the gray Jeep and then she stopped where the red car is that is her car.”
Things could have been worse for Lindsey but her big brother saw the red car coming.
Cory said, “She had to be doing 60-miles-an-hour because she took flight right here.”
The red car also hit a Jeep that was at a gas pump. Kelly Marian and her son were in the Jeep. She never saw the red car coming.
Kelly said, “I has just pulled up to the pump and then I heard the girl next to us scream. So by the time I looked up she had already hit them and she ran right into us and then my car was up on the curb.”
Meanwhile Lindsey and Cory went to help the woman in the red car. The damaged vehicle came to a stop just inches away from a gas pump. An attendant put the fire out.
The woman in the red car said she didn’t remember what happened. She was taken to the hospital. No one else was injured.
