Lots of garage sales are taking place in the summer months, but WOWT 6 News found one near 63rd and Sahler in the Benson area with a purpose...saving a little girl's home.
Kloe May, or KoKo, is a one-year-old girl, fighting a horrible disease. Health problems dictated her single mother stay home with her for several months.
With no income during that time, KoKo and her family have fallen behind on things like rent and utility bills.
Koko's siblings wanted to hold a garage sale, and sell their toys to keep the family together in their home.
Nicole May, KoKo's Mother, decided to hold the garage sale the weekend of July 18th.
She said due to her daughter's medical condition she had no choice but to she stay home and care for her.
“She has cleidocranial dysplasia,” Nicole said. "She has no collar bone and she has an open soft spot. She has had 14 seizures to date and with no collar bone and the soft spot it makes it a lot more difficult. She has undergone a lot of tests. They found out there is a portion of her brain that's not developing.”
The garage sale runs through Saturday but Nicole plans to extend that to raise as much money as she can.
You can donate money at any Centris Credit Union. Donate under the name "Kloe May."
