Gaming officials have approved an agreement that will extend a lease for the floating Argosy Casino in northwest Iowa.
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved the agreement to keep the casino in business for up to 30 months.
The city and casino operator Penn National Gaming Inc. agreed last month to extend the lease. The City Council will vote on Jan. 28 whether to give final approval to the contract.
A land-based casino will replace the riverboat casino. Three developers are seeking a state license to develop it, including Penn National.
