Despite the weather, nearly 2,000 people came out Saturday morning to pay their respects at the funeral for Ralston Fire Chief Kyle Ienn.
The service was held at Ralston High School on what would have been Ienn's 41st birthday. His body was discovered hanging from an overpass at 70th and Pine streets in Omaha last Tuesday morning, an apparent suicide.
Ienn served with the Ralston Fire Department for 21 years, more than 10 of those as chief. Members of the Ralston fire and police departments were in attendance as well as personnel from the La Vista Fire Department. After the service, Ienn was taken to Calvary Cemetery.
The Ienn family is asking that in lieu of flowers, money be donated to the Ienn Children Education Fund at Centris Federal Credit Union.
