Keep Cass County clean program is up and running. Word was received recently that a grant application submitted last year through the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality was approved.
The Cassgram reports Pat Joyner and Nancy Josoff appeared before the county board this week and informed commissioners that Keep Cass County Beautiful, a program that ties in with Cass County Going Green, was launched with a $21,534 grant. The local program is an affiliate of Keep Nebraska Beautiful.
“There’s a lot involved to keep our charter,” said Joyner who prepared the application at her own time and expense and will now oversee the program. The county board had authorized the grant application several months ago.
Keep Cass County Beautiful will be under the direction of a yet-to-be-established board of directors. Its budget will be separate from the county budget.
