The cities of Lincoln and York are coming together to honor one of their own and help raise money for a fallen police officer's family. Hundreds have turned out for the early hours of the fundraiser.
The Lincoln Police Department organized the spaghetti feed Saturday evening to honor the memory of officer Anthony Howe, who died January 25th in a car accident while driving to work.
The event is being held at the Fire Fighter's Reception Hall in Lincoln at 201 Victory Lane until 9pm. Admission is $5 and kids 2 years-old and younger eat for free.
Captain Jon Sundermeier says he's impressed by the early turnout. "We've had a lot of support in the past when we've had similar tragedies and gotten together to raise money for the family. It doesn't surprise me but the numbers are always big and it's just wonderful to see people come out. " he said.
