On Sunday night, the metro community gathered to remember one life lost, and to help those still here. As the investigation into who killed Andrea Kruger continues, many rallied to help take care of the husband and three kids she left behind.
Even those who didn't know Kruger well, were at the Cove Lounge and Grill's cook out Sunday. Among the good eats and live tunes, were efforts to raise money for Kruger's family.
"It's phenomenal," said Jodi Meradith. "I think when something like this happens in your community that you go into shock and you're like why? It's unexplainable, but if you can find anything positive from it, it's just the reaction of people coming together and showing community support."
Even though Kruger is gone, many believe she knows what her community is doing for her and for her family.
