A frost advisory is in effect from 4-8 a.m. Sunday across parts of the Heartland. The metro is not included in the advisory, though low lying areas still could dip below 36 degrees resulting in patchy frost.
Areas north and west of the metro could see morning temperatures drop between 32-35 degrees. A frost advisory means that frost is possible. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
The first average frost usually occurs in the metro during the first week of October. October 4th is the average first fall frost date in Omaha. As of now, it looks like temperatures won't dip quite that low.
