Google may be close to settling allegations of privacy violations across the country and a big milestone was reached in the jobs recovery. Here's the Friday Bloomberg After The Bell Report from the New York Stock Exchange.

Google is reportedly on the verge of a $7 million settlement to resolve allegations the company improperly collected personal data for its Street View product. A source tells Bloomberg the tech company has reached the agreement with more than 30 states and may make an announcement by early next week.

President Obama may be close to choosing Thomas Perez as the country's new labor secretary. Perez is currently assistant U.S. attorney general for civil rights. A policy expert tells Bloomberg the pick of a Hispanic lawyer may signal the administration's commitment to protect worker wages and implement immigration reform.

Stocks rose with the S&P approaching a record high on a better than expected monthly jobs report. Labor Department figures show employers added 236,000 jobs last month, bringing the unemployment rate down to 7.7 percent, a four-year low.
