Fremont police are trying to figure out just what happened near an elementary school Tuesday morning. As a precaution, Bell Field Elementary was briefly placed in lockdown.
Officers were advised at 11:13am that someone may have been shot and was bleeding from the head in the area. What they found was a possible victim who had a minor head injury. The person declined any medical treatment. The nature of the injury has not been disclosed.
The school was taken out of lockdown after an investigation indicated the incident actually took place in the early morning hours and the person responsible, if anyone is, was not in the area.
Police say at no time were the children or staff at the school in any danger.
