A rock band that formed more than 51 years ago is getting back together for a dance gig and a jam session in Fremont.
30 or more members of J. Harrison B. and The Bumbles will gather for a dance Saturday and the jam session on Sunday.
Mike Semrad, of Fremont, said the band formed first as The Nomads when he and the other four members were juniors at Fremont High School. They changed the name in 1965. Semrad says they wanted something that sounded hipper.
He says musicians left and were replaced over the years and other versions of the band were started. Semrad estimates there have been more than 200 official members of J. Harrison B. and The Bumbles.
