Fremont Health Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of four new physicians to its Medical Staff – an OB/GYN, a family physician, a palliative care specialist, and a general surgeon.
Jamie Haferbier-Gustafson, MD, who was born and raised in Omaha, specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. She earned her Medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, and completed a residency at the Kansas University School of Medicine in Wichita. Dr Gustafson will join Drs. Nicole Dix, Gerald Keasling, Karen Lauer-Silva, and Mark Leahy at Health Care for Women on August 1.
Andrew Opp, MD, is a Wahoo native and a family practice physician. He earned his medical Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where he also completed his family practice residency. Dr. Opp will join Drs. Milo Anderson, Paul Glowacki, and Monty Sellon at 23rd Family Med on September 1. He will see patients in Fremont and at the new Lake Wanahoo Medical Clinic in Wahoo.
Todd Sauer, MD, is a fellowship trained palliative care specialist. Palliative care focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, and stress of a serious illness—whatever the diagnosis. Dr. Sauer attended Creighton University School of Medicine, trained in family medicine in Lincoln, NE, and completed a Fellowship at the Institute for Palliative Medicine at San Diego Hospice.
Jake Wiesen, MD, is a general surgeon originally from Cozad, Nebraska. He earned his Medical Degree and completed his family practice residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Dr. Wiesen then completed his general surgery training at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency based at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. He will join Drs. Dreyer, Leatherbury, and Pentel at The Surgical Group on September 1.
