The City of La Vista’s third annual Bike Fun and Safety Day will include a bicycle skills course, bike checks and safety tips as well as a bike helmet fitting event for children up to age 12, courtesy of AAA Nebraska and the Cornhusker Motor Club Foundation.
Bike Fun and Safety Day is scheduled for 4:30-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 26th, at the La Vista Sports Complex located off of 66th Street south of Harrison Street.
A limited selection of free bike helmets will be available on a first come, first served basis. Bicycle enthusiasts and safety experts from AAA Nebraska will be on hand to help fit children to their new helmets.
In addition, parents are encouraged to bring their bikes for a community bike ride beginning at 6 p.m. along the newly-installed Keystone Trail near the La Vista Sports Complex. Helmets are required for the skills course and the bike ride.
