For some people, varicose veins are just a cosmetic concern. But local health experts say the enlarged veins can also cause pain that signals more serious problems.
That's why the Fremont Area Medical Center is providing free varicose vein screenings Monday, March 3rd.
The screenings will go from 3 - 6 p.m., at FAMC'S Imaging Center.
During the screening, Dr. Jeffrey Himmelberg, Interventional Radiologist will discuss symptoms and examine the affected areas.
An ultrasound test will also be performed to evaluate the function of valves in the veins and detect any venous reflux.
Screenings will be offered by appointment only and typically take 15 minutes. Call (402) 727-3882 to schedule a free screening.
