Trained volunteers continue to help local residents file their state and federal tax returns at five metro area sites through the filing deadline of April 15th.
Omaha’s Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition operates the sites in south Omaha, north Omaha and north-central Omaha, which are available to households with an income of $52,000 and below.
A call to 211 will provide information on the hours of operation at each site. Some of the locations also offer additional financial stability support services.
Appointments are required at one of the south Omaha locations, but all other sites operate on a first come, first serve basis. A free online option is also available for residents who earn $58,000 or less.
Most of the in-person sites have a computer designated especially for filers who wish to use the site themselves. The 211 number can provide information on the times that staff members or volunteers will be present to answer questions for self-filers.
The Omaha EITC Coalition’s in-person tax filing sites are administered by Family Housing Advisory Services and are funded through United Way of the Midlands and Walmart Foundation. The online option is supported by United Way, Walmart Foundation, Goodwill and the National Disability Institute.
