It's a sound you may not have heard before. Friday night, Bridge Beats will include an eclectic mix of gypsy jazz and soul-soothing world music; free at the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge Plaza.
At 6:30 p.m. WOWT Sports Anchor Dave Webber will introduce the local band, Manouche Moustache, who will play a repertoire of original tunes, early jazz standards, and French classics.
Christopher of the Wolves will then play an entrancing mix using up to six instruments, creating mesmerizing songs with percussion, melody and drones starting at 7:30 p.m. Christopher has entertained thousands of people in 19 countries, playing his world music for more than 20 years. Australian didgeridoo, Swiss Hang drum, African djembe, and Chinese hulusi are among the instruments blended in his music.
WOWT is proud to sponsor Bridge Beats every Friday night, with the final one on Friday, June 28. These events are free and open to the public. A food vendor will be on site for guests to grab something to eat.
