Several police departments are investigating a string of burglaries that took place in the metro over Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Burglars made a smash and grab at at least six area businesses overnight.
Omaha, La Vista, and Ralston police are investigating to see if they could be related.
In just about every one of these cases, burglars busted open a window and went for the cash register.
Interestingly, for those businesses that didn't have cash in the register, nothing else was taken.
Ron Hansen, co-owner of "Hair For You!" at 79th and Harrison in Ralston is tried to keep it business as usual Wednesday.
However, after being burglarized overnight, it's what he had to do to keep going.
Hansen arrived Wednesday morning to find a window smashed, and police in front of his business.
The "Gusto Cuban Cafe" next door suffered the same fate.
“Violated, like I think anybody would feel, but in the long run, I’m glad no one was working and everybody was safe and sound, and nobody was injured or worse,” Hansen said.
For Hansen, nothing was taken.
However, those were just a couple of many burglaries from overnight in the area.
Near 144th and Center in Omaha, "Sun Tan City," and "A Hill of Beans Coffee" also had windows smashed. The coffee shop says near $300 was taken from the register.
At 106th and Fort, "Pro Cuts" was another victim. Burglars smashed that window and also went straight for the cash register.
Then, at "La Vista Keno" at 84th and Harrison, burglars put on a show for surveillance cameras.
Video shows two men driving up in a dark SUV, and prying open the door.
The men busted into a vending machine, and then into a cash register.
The two had their faces covered.
Different police departments don't know if these incidents are related, but are looking into it.
Hansen hopes they can be stopped.
“I hope they can catch whoever’s doing it so they stop doing it. It seems like they’re pretty busy people, or person, or whoever it is,” he said.
Police are looking for help in all of these cases.
