Metro police capture four people wanted for multiple incidents of shoplifting.
Just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Bellevue Police were alerted that several shoplifting suspects were fleeing from the Shadow Lake Towne Center Mall in Papillion. The suspects were headed eastbound on Highway 370, toward Bellevue.
A Bellevue police officer spotted the speeding vehicle and took up the pursuit. The driver pulled over near Highway 75. At the scene two women were detained. One was the driver of the vehicle.
Also in the car were two men. They bailed out and ran, spilling stolen items out of the vehicle. The men jumped a fence and ran into the Walmart nearby, where they tried to blend into the crowd.
Eyewitnesses helped police identify the suspects and quickly catch them. The two women were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property. The two men were each charged with Possession of Stolen Property as well as Obstruction of a Police Officer.
The suspects and the investigation were then turned over to Papillion Police.
