Sentencing has been set in July for a former Jefferson County sheriff's deputy who pleaded no contest to a theft charge.

Keith Fisher entered the plea in Jefferson County District Court in Fairbury. Fisher also pleaded no contest to a charge of official misconduct.

The Nebraska State Patrol investigated the accusations that Fisher had used jail money to buy himself items over a three-year period.

Fisher was arrested last July.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 27.
