Published reports say Corey J. Miller, of Oakhurst, Calif., was sentenced Monday in Lancaster County District Court. He pleaded guilty to the charge in a deal with prosecutors that reduced the original charge of delivery of or intent to deliver illegal drugs.
Court records show Miller was stopped on Interstate 80 near Lincoln on Oct. 29 for speeding. A search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of marijuana in bag of baby formula, and 8.4 pounds of the drug were found in a suitcase.
At the time, Miller was a bullpen catcher for the Cubs, but now works for a freight company.
