A Platte County Court judge fined a former Columbus, Nebraska teacher $500 after he pleaded no contest to getting alcohol for an 18-year-old former student.
Judge Frank Skorupa followed prosecutors' recommendation and fined 31-year-old Aaron Sasges for supplying the teen with alcohol on February 23rd on a rural Butler County road.
Sasges pleaded no contest in exchange for prosecutors reducing the charge. The judge told Sasges it "wasn't a very smart thing to be riding around with an 18-year-old girl drinking alcohol."
The teen was a former student at Scotus Central Catholic High School where Sasges taught business and computer classes. He also coached basketball and track. He resigned at the end of the 2011-2012 school year.
