A December trial is scheduled for a former Falls City, Nebraska police officer charged with manslaughter after a fatal collision.
Thirty-five-year-old Steven Darveau Jr. pleaded not guilty on Tuesday. He's accused of unintentionally causing the death of 64-year-old Edward Packard of Cleves, Ohio. The trial is scheduled to begin on December 12th.
Prosecutors say Darveau was driving his motorcycle when he made a left turn in front of Packard's car on August 5, 2011 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 73 and South 703 Loop, three miles south of Falls City.
Darveau was headed to the Falls City Jaycee's annual tractor pull at the Falls City Community Field.
