A Boys Town staff member has been fired and police have arrested her for sexual assault. She allegedly had sex with a teenage resident of Boys Town.
Thirty-one-year-old Robyn Wood faces a charge of felony sexual abuse of a protected person. Investigators do not believe there are any other victims.
She had been with Boys Town for five years.
Once the allegations surfaced, Wood was removed from her position and then let go after an independent investigation was completed by Boys Town. A spokesperson says they also notified police and CPS when they first learned of the allegations.
WOWT 6 News was in court on Thursday, where bond was set at $75,000. Wood is scheduled to be back in court in September.
In a statement, Boys Town said, "The safety and well-being of our youth is our number one priority."
"We are cooperating fully with law enforcement and the County Attorney. If the allegations are true, then we encourage prosecution so that this person will not be working with kids in the future."
"We strive for the highest standards for our children and we will use this event in our continued efforts to give only the best moral and ethical care to each and every child."
"We will continue to encourage prompt reporting of behavior that does not meet our standards, and do whatever it takes to deliver the highest quality care while protecting the safety of our children."
