Twelve members of Fontenelle Forest’s education and naturalist staff have completed a Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) program through the National Association for Interpretation (NAI). Interpretation seeks to make emotional and intellectual connections between the interests of the audience and the meaning inherent to a resource such as the forest.

Fontenelle Forest, in partnership with the NAI, is also offering a professional certification course to the public for individuals who will be delivering interpretive programs or having public contact at interpretive sites.

The course runs from October 13 until the 16 and is open to anyone age 16 and over with a desire to increase their knowledge and skills related to interpretation. Cost is $330 for NAI members and $360 for non-NAI members.
