Flirting With Records

Not quite reaching new records but still incredibly mild temperatures will blanket the Heartland this afternoon.

Highs across the region will soar well into the 60s this afternoon approaching records. Omaha will likely climb into the low to mid 60s as will Norfolk, while Lincoln will skyrocket into the mid 60s.

The record high for this date is 70° set in 1930 for both Omaha and Lincoln with the record sitting at 71° for Norfolk.

Whether records get eclipsed or not, the bottom line is that temperatures will be some 20 to 25 degrees above normal as the average high is typically near 39°.
