Cool, fall-like weather has settled across the Heartland, and by Tuesday morning temperatures will dip to near record levels.
With a stiff northwest wind, temperatures will drop through the 60s tonight and eventually bottom out near 53°. The record low for Tuesday morning is 51 set in 1967.
Another record low may be in jeopardy for Wednesday as the record is 54 set in both 1967 and 1976, but the forecast is calling for morning lows near 53.
These cooler than normal temperatures will be staying around for a few days before the summer heat comes back on Sunday.
