Flags Flown in Afghanistan Now with Papillion Scouts

On this federal holiday of Veteran's Day, we continue to celebrate the service of our military veterans. In Papillion Monday night, scouts with Pack 359 witnessed a special honor.

Two flags that flew over Afghanistan for the past few years now belong to the pack out of St. Columbkille. The pledge of allegiance had even more meaning for the youngsters on this night.

"I had some friends of mine who are in Afghanistan right now -- to fly the flag that is behind me," said Lt Commander Mike Yunker with the U.S. Navy. "It's a nice way to remind them of why we are here."

Last month, the pack had a camp out and learned what happens when a flag is retired.
