We all have lives outside our work. Now next time you drop by First National Bank -- your clerk might be in the company rock band. Next week, the retail banking division will be participating in Fortune magazine's Battle of the Corporate Bands.
FN Band is the name of the First National's group. Thursday night at The Ozone was the final tune-up at a company party before heading to California next week for the regional competition.
This seven person band has legal, HR, retail -- even a senior vice president represented.
"It really brings the company together," said First National Bank Senior VP of Retail Banking Group and a guitar player Rolland Johannsen. "In the band, there's no titles or business units. It's just folks getting together to play music and that what is great about it."
Rock n' roll tonight. Tomorrow -- he's back to being the boss.
New this year in the competition -- all band members must be employees of the company.
If they do well in California next week, they will play in the finals in September at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
