A man aged 60-70 died on Dec. 23rd from complications related to the flu, according to the Douglas County Health Department.
He is the first flu death this season reported in Douglas County. A Douglas County Health Department Spokesperson said the man had underlying health conditions.
The spokesperson said there is still time to get a flu shot and that the vaccine is very effective with this year’s strain of flu.
Eleven people died in Douglas County from the flu last year.
