A 24-year-old Lincoln man has been arrested for allegedly possessing explosive materials.
Police say they searched the home of Ryan Luft and found 27 commercial-grade fireworks. Their investigation was launched after someone reported hearing a loud explosion near 13th & Garber Street about 11pm Saturday.
Captain David Beggs says an officer soon saw another of the fireworks explode. Officers later found fireworks tubes in a nearby backyard, where Luft lives.
Luft surrendered on Sunday morning. He was arrested on a felony charge of possession of explosive materials.
