The Omaha Police Department will host a Fireworks Amnesty Day on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

July 4th is the last day to legally use consumer fireworks. A city ordinance allows for fireworks use again from December 28th to January 1st and allows for sales to continue through the 5th of July.

Those who would like to get rid of unwanted fireworks, no questions ask, can drop them off at two locations:

  • Ambassador Worship Center, 103rd & Fort Street (Former Wal-Mart)
  • Seymour Smith Park, 72nd & Harrison

In addition to fireworks, police will also accept guns and ammunition, no questions asked.
