Visitors to seven Nebraska state parks & recreation areas will be allowed to use fireworks on July 4th and only on July 4th.
The Nebraska Parks Department says fireworks will be permitted from 8 a.m. until midnight on Independence Day at the following State Recreation Areas (SRA):
Branched Oak SRA near Malcom
Fort Kearney SRA near Kearney
Memphis SRA near Memphis
Fremont SRA near Fremont
Two Rivers SRA near Venice
Pawnee SRA near Emerald
Wagon Train SRA Hickman
Only fireworks that can be legally purchased in Nebraska will be allowed in those areas.
Signs will point the way to designated fireworks sites and their boundaries will be clearly marked. Use of fireworks elsewhere in state areas or at other times is prohibited.
