Within 15 minutes, Pleasant Dale and Milford firefighters were called to two separate accidents near Lincoln late Saturday night.
Just after 11 p.m. Saturday, crews were dispatched to Interstate 80 about halfway between the Pleasant Dale and Milford exits for a two-vehicle crash. Within 15 minutes, before the responders arrived at the first accident, another call came in for another accident just north of the Pleasant Dale interchange.
The first accident was considered minor as far as damage. One person was taken to the hospital while the other driver refused treatment.
The second accident involved one vehicle that after exiting the highway went into a ditch and glanced off of a tree. The driver was not injured.
One firefighter said it seemed they were going to be really busy with back-to-back accidents. "I hope this isn't an indication of how the rest of tonight is going to go for us."
The Seward County Sheriff's Department is investigating both crashes.
