The Omaha Professional Firefighters Association held a fundraiser Sunday to benefit International Nutrition employees and their families.
Part of the animal feed plant at South 77th and I streets collapsed on January 20th, killing two workers and injuring 17 others.
Pork sandwiches, smoked chicken thighs and baked beans were on the menu at the Omaha Fire Union Hall at 60th and Grover. A raffle was also held. All proceeds go to a benefit fund at Wells Fargo Bank.
"We knew that there was a fundraiser last weekend on the 9th, so we just said hey, let's do something on the 16th and let's see if we can keep the momentum going and raise some money and that's what we're trying to do," said Omaha Firefighters Association President Steve LeClair.
