A fire forced the evacuation of a University of Nebraska-Lincoln dorm early Thursday morning. Now campus police and the State Fire Marshal are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Smith Hall was evacuated around 4:50 a.m. Thursday after alarms sounded. UNL Police Assistant Chief Charlotte Evans says someone tried to set fire to a cork board in the third-floor lobby.
Evans says the smoldering board spewed heavy smoke, setting off the alarms. No injuries have been reported.
