A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for northern Mills and southwestern Fremont counties in Iowa and Cass, eastern Sarpy and eastern Otoe counties in Nebraska until 3:45 p.m. Sunday. A tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday for southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa, including Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
Accident on highway 75 and a fire truck was clipped at the scene. It happened near Beach Road Wednesday night. Plattsmouth EMS and Plattsmouth fire responded with Cass County sheriff’s deputies.
The Cassgram reports one person was transported by EMS. Initial reports said one vehicle in the collision drove away from the scene before deputies arrived. More details on Friday.
A fire truck parked for traffic control at the scene was struck by a semi but the fire truck does not have to be put out-of-service at this time.
