A combination of weather conditions means eastern Nebraska and parts of southwest Iowa, including the Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln areas, are in extreme fire danger on Monday.
A red flag warning is in effect from 1-8 p.m. across the region. With temperatures in the 60s, the dew point and relative humidity dropping and south to southwest winds of 15-25 mph gusting to 30-35 mph plus the already dry conditions, it creates the potential for grass/brush fires.
Any fire that develops will likely spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. Please be careful with smoking materials and grills.
