It was the final goodbye for a man who had a huge Omaha following. A memorial service was held Sunday afternoon for comedian and hypnotist Jent Monk, better known as “J Medicine Hat."
The comedian died three weeks ago after a fall left him with severe brain damage.
Seats were full at the Kroc Center as family and friends remembered the man that brought laughter to so many. J Medicine Hat performed at the Funny Bone for almost 20 years.
Fellow comedians tell Channel Six he was not only hilarious, but a wonderful mentor, too. “For a business where it’s so self-centered for him to have given so much and to be so selfless, it was just a testament to how real and generous he was,” said comedian Heather Jones. “He was just a great guy and very professional."
J Medicine Hat holds the record for the most shows in a single room at the Funny Bone. He performed there some 1,200 times.
