"When We Stop Counting" showcases the community of Crete, which has experienced a surge in the Hispanic population. The film explores the struggles and triumphs of the six students as they
strive to achieve the American Dream and deal with the pressure of their parents' sacrifices. It includes footage shot by the students.
The 68-minute documentary will be screened at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at Film Streams. A discussion with the director and the Crete Public School superintendent will follow.
