Film Streams Now Accepting Showcase Submissions

Submissions for Film Streams, Omaha's nonprofit cinema, fifth annual Local Filmmakers Showcase are now being accepted.

To be eligible, the director must be a Nebraska, Iowa, or South Dakota resident. Students that are attending schools full-time in these states are also eligible.

Films of all types will be considered for the showcase, which will be about 90 to 150 minutes in length in its entirety. The showcase's format will be determined by the quality and diversity of films under consideration

Filmmakers are allowed a maximum of three submissions. Films must be completed at the time of submission and received by Film Streams no later than July 25, 2014. Submissions will be reviewed by an independent jury.

Filmmakers are invited to submit their work for consideration electronically or by mail. Send a DVD along with the attached submission form (also available for download at to: Film Streams, Attn: Patrick Kinney, P.O. Box 8485, Omaha, NE 68108. Or, send a link to your film and the completed submission form to There is no fee for entry.

Filmmakers whose films are selected for the showcase will be invited to an opening night celebration and screening. All filmmakers chosen will also receive a percentage of the box office for the week-long run at Film Streams’ Ruth Sokolof Theater as well as a small honorarium.

More details about the showcase, which takes place in October, will be announced later this summer.
