Fight in jail lands man back in jail. The fight happened last summer in the Cass County Jail when 21-year-old Damian Applegate of Plattsmouth got into a fist fight with another inmate in the jail’s bathroom.
The Cassgram reports Applegate got a black eye and the other inmate had knots on his head.
Applegate had been in jail on August 20th awaiting court proceedings for stealing jewelry from his girlfriend’s family residence.
Now he’s back in jail after pleading guilty to Class I Misdemeanor assault on Monday. He originally had been charged with a felony but took the plea agreement charge reduction which included a 60 day county jail sentence recommendation. The case went to immediate sentencing after the plea was entered and Cass County District Court Judge Randall Rehmeier agreed with the two month jail sentence recommendation.
