Two women, who were arrested inside a Weeping Water business last September, were sentenced Thursday.
The Cassgram reports Janetta K. Hanson, age 38, Weeping Water, and Angela M. Jameson, age 38, Plattsmouth, had each originally been charged with a felony count of burglary but pled guilty to two misdemeanors in a plea agreement.
The sheriff’s report said deputies responded to Weeping Water during its fall festival celebration on September 24th. There were complaints about two female parties that appeared intoxicated and were yelling profanities.
A deputy located the two women in a storage room in the basement apartment area under the Weeping Water Super Foods grocery store.
Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann said the investigation revealed that the two had forced their entry into the storage area of the grocery store, took alcoholic beverages from a refrigerator and started to consume them.
They each had pled guilty to first degree trespassing, a Class I Misdemeanor, and theft by taking ($200 or less), a Class II Misdemeanor.
Both were sentenced to fines totaling $250 on Thursday. Cass County Judge John Steinheider also sentenced them to four days in Cass County Jail, terms that had already been served following their arrests.
Restitution of $3.00 was ordered for two bottles of Mike’s Hard Lemonade.
