A 21-year-old woman is recovering in the hospital after she was shot in the head over the weekend. It was one of four shootings over two days. Olivia Harness’s father spoke with WOWT and said he is fed up with the violence.
“Seeing her turn over, in the way she is turning over is great,” said Sebeck Ra.
That’s how he describes his daughter, who was shot Saturday at a party near 45th and Curtis.
“Having a gathering and she received a bullet in her head, 21st birthday that was her present,” said Ra.
She was inside at the time when witnesses say someone drove by and fired shots at the house.
“Went through the right side of her temple and ended up in her nasal cavity which they had to remove,” said Ra.
Miraculously she survived the hit and after surgery is expected to be okay.
“That bullet the way it shot that house was meant for someone,” said Ra.
He says his daughter has no ties to gangs and was simply an innocent victim of an all too common crime.
“It's like we're in a war somebody never experienced,” said Ra.
It’s a war that he hopes will stop soon.
“We can be effective in this community, I hope so. Not to be worried about our past but put together a productive future,” said Ra.
As he continues to be by his daughter's side, he hopes someone will come forward with information to find the shooter.
“She's been a real truly victim. It's hard,” said Ra.
Olivia is currently recovering at the Nebraska Medical Center.
Police are still asking for your help in solving this crime. They say at least nine shots were fired. They are looking for a blue, gold or gray Jeep Grand Cherokee.
