Police believe a 27-year-old Iowa man hurt his infant daughter seriously enough to cause her death last year.
Trevor Smith was arrested Monday evening. He is facing charges of first-degree murder and child endangerment.
Prosecutors say Smith was caring for his 2-month-old daughter, Aubriana Jo Christian, last September when she stopped breathing.
Doctors determined that the girl had a brain bleed that wasn't caused by an accident.
Smith initially told police that Aubriana stopped breathing after he gave her a bottle. But police couldn't find the bottle, and Smith later admitted shaking his daughter.
He was being held Tuesday in lieu of $350,000 bond.
