In September, Mikala Rinehart was booked one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident causing death. Police said 64-year-old Frank Huerta was struck while crossing the intersection of 42nd and H Streets.
Rinehart's Attorney William Gallup said, “I’m glad to get the case into juvenile court; that’s where 17-year-olds belong. She wasn’t charged with motor vehicle homicide, just not stopping, so that’s where she belongs.”
