Authorities have identified a young woman killed in a Douglas County accident Friday as 19-year-old Sarah Bryhan of Bellevue. Her passenger, who was injured in the crash, is 18-year-old Alisa Robertson, also of Bellevue.
Robertson was hospitalized in stable condition at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Both Bryhan and Robertson were students of Bellevue Christian Center's Masters Commission program.
"Right now I'm still like no like I'm going to see her later today but it's just hard because I know I'm not going to," said Christina Mitchell, her friend of fifteen years and a classmate in the program.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 12:30 p.m. at 240th and West Center Road south of Waterloo and involved the car the two teens were in and a semi.
"They do life together everyday so they're very tight-knit--it becomes a family. So it was devastating for them to find out," said Cory Demmel, the executive director of the program and Bryhan's youth pastor.
"She brought light, and she brought joy to pretty much any environment she was in," said Demmel.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries.
