Now the family that moved from Lincoln onto County Road 13 is dead. Scott Tingelhoff, “Emergency personal responded and located the fire, and there were 3 individuals that passed away that were inside the home.”
First responders say that fire was intense. Kevin Stukenholtz says, “So of the floor already deteriorated where they couldn’t walk there, so once they entered it was pretty dangerous, they had to attempt entry at another location, so the fire continued through the roof throughout that process.”
The tragic loss of the family of three in this community stretched well into Wahoo, were the family reportedly attended Saturday night mass here at St. Wenceslaus, leaving the community reeling. Angie Burke says, “Sad, it’s horrifying, it didn’t really know what to say when I heard that, because it’s such a shocker.”
As police continued to comb the scene and wrap their investigation, there are a lot of unanswered questions, but the community will stick together. Angie Burke says, “You know there is always such an outpouring of support, even though you may not know the people.”
