A family of four was able to escape an early morning house fire near 40th and Grant in Omaha. The Humane Society also responded to the scene to assist the family's pets.
Firefighters responded to the call just after six o'clock this morning. The fire started in the kitchen and spread. Crews had the fire under control in about 15 minutes.
Two adults and two kids escaped the fire without injury.
