Family Hit Twice By Burglars in One Month

A metro family hopes the saying "the third times the charm" doesn't become true for them. After two burglaries things are changing in the Torres household.

"It's kind of scary. Because now when I get home or when my kids get home the first thing we try to do is look around to see if someone is inside the house," said Griselda Torres, victim.

The most recent burglary was this past Sunday. While they were at church, the burglars broke in to their home.

When the family did get back they knew something wasn't right.

"When we came home, we always park there. And we just noticed this door was open, and we always keep it closed. So I think they just came and opened this lock," said Jose Torres, victim.

Then the crooks went through the backyard and went to a window.

"This is actually where we think they came in through. And this was actually the only window that was unlocked," said Griselda.

Once inside the home the crooks got their hands on the Torres' electronics and safe.

"We don't feel that safe anymore," said Griselda.

Afraid burglars will come back, the family is now pulling out all the security stops. They've updated alarms, put in new locks and other security features.
